Making a Difference Fundraiser

Twelve young Oakland students from the Barack Obama Academy are taking the same journey as President Obama to Washington, D.C. on April 3rd. Let’s support our young people by attending our fundraiser and silent auction on Saturday, March 6th at TeachBar, a innovative learning center and tea bar, located in the BayFair Center, San Leandro from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. We are asking the local community, church members, business leaders and all Oakland Alumni classes to support these twelve young students and make a difference! If you're not able to attend our fundraising event you can send a check to “OSSF/BOA,” P.O. Box 20238, Oakland, CA 94620. If you are attending our fundraiser please email your RSVP to Castlemont1969@gmail.com. A suggestion for your donation is in honor of your class; $19.74 or $19.69 or $19.90, etc.

Graduated from Fremont High in 66 and I look forward to supporting the students from Barack Obama Academy. Our greatest field trip was to Half Moon Bay. I still remember the strong winds and walking on the beach in my bare feet. Enjoy your trip to Washington, DC.

Grew up around the Lockwood Gardens near 66th Avenue and East 14th Street, ate my Quick Way burgers and saw too many drug dealings. I didn't graduate from Fremont High but I got my degree down the road. Man all I can say is Stay in School get your diploma and if you can go to college. I'm taking my ride AC 40 to the Bayfair Mall to support these kids.

Warrior Alum from the early 60's and I heard the minister talk about the students from the Barack Obama Academy making a field trip to Washington DC and I just praised Jesus because I know the impact the entire trip will have on these young people especially if President Obama meets them. Look forward to meeting these fine students and their parents.

Saw your flyer at my church and I was so proud of these young students, their parents and the Barack Obama Academy. I'm grew up in New York city and man I love your idea of high school alums supporting the young people in Oakland. I didn't go to college so I'm in this low paying job with the county but I'm still blessed with my health, it will make me feel good to help. Expect me at the fundraiser so I can give you guys my $19.64 check

Our priest announced your fundraiser for the students of Barack Obama Academy. I'm a recent graduate of Pikesville High School in Pikesville, Maryland. Our entire class went on a field trip to Washington DC and it was an experience of a life time. We had the opportunity to meet Senator Kennedy two months before his death. He was so friendly. I hope the students get to meet President Obama or First Lady Mrs. Obama. I am now attending UC Berkeley.

Gonna send a money order out to the Barack Obama Academy to help out the kids. Wish I had somebody do a field trip when I went to Mac in the 70's. I did not do the cap and gown gig to the disappointment of moms but I have a good job with waste management and living a straight life with my wife and my little girl. I love Oakland still and my boys are still out there but I had to get out.
